ENDRES MANUFACTURING COMPANY RECOGNIZED AT INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION

(Myrtle Beach, South Carolina) - March 19, 2007 - A project by Endres Manufacturing Co., a structural steel fabricator in Waunakee, WI, was once again recognized as the best steel building project in the United States at the Twelfth Annual Convention of the Steel Plus Network LLC.

Endres Manufacturing Company received the award for the work on Tri-North Corporate Headquarters, one of the largest general contractors in Wisconsin. The headquarters are located in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, and the building included underground parking, three atriums, roof decks, a daycare facility, offices, a fitness room, and several meeting rooms. The building itself is about 55,500 square feet and used over 260 tons of steel. Endres supplied not only the structural steel, but several railing and stairs throughout the interior and exterior of the building. Since the building is a showcase for the contractor to all of their customers, the building had to be something unique and an example of quality and creativity.

Ken Ballweg said, “This was one of our most complicated and exciting projects this year. It was not our largest and not our most profitable, but one that we take great pride in.” Endres was hand picked to do the project because Tri-North knew Endres would provide the highest quality product and service. Ballweg said, “Being chosen by our customer to do the work on their corporate headquarters is a real honor, and a great demonstration of the relationship Endres works to maintain with our customers and also a testament to our employees and the quality of work that we produce.”

The job also had its share of unique challenges. The job included a good amount of exposed structural steel so quality was a key concern.  “We had to make sure things were done correctly, and that all the material was prepared as if it were a piece of art,” Ballweg said.  It was also a LEED certified “green” building, a national certification that guarantees the facility meets a specific level of energy efficiency and sustainability. Steel is one of the world’s most recycled materials, and is therefore a great building product for an environmentally friendly structure. The building is a huge success and Tri-North is extremely pleased with their new building.

Endres Manufacturing Co. is a family business that is celebrating over 80 years in business.
