Pier and Dock F.A.Q.:
Q. Can I reconfigure or move the Endres
pier system?
A. Our pier system is designed to allow
our customers the option of reconfiguring or moving the pier
with ease. All of our pier system components are
interchangeable.
Q. Why are Endres boat dock systems
made of galvanized steel vs. aluminum?
A. Several reasons: Structurally the
steel and steel welds are much stronger than aluminum. Aluminum
is more expensive and is far more prone to weld fatigue and
failure than steel. Our steel frames weigh approximately 65 lbs
each, so weight is not an issue.
Q. My lake bottom is very mucky, how do
I keep the boat dock from sinking into the muck?
A. Our customers place larger pads under
the dock footplates. Patio blocks or pieces of wood are
inexpensive way to solve the problem for mucky lake bottoms.
Q. Does the Endres dock system need to
be removed in the winter?
A. Freezing temperatures will not harm the
Endres pier system; however shifting ice can create problems for
any system. We recommend removal during the winter months. We
also recommend that you check with your neighbors to see what
they do with their piers.
Q. How often do I need to treat the
cedar decking on my Endres boat dock?
A. Cedar decking does not need to be
treated; however if you do just ask the hardware store what to
use and how often. They are the experts on stains for treating
decks.
Q. What type of boat dock fits needs
best?
A. Call us and we can point you in the
right direction. We do not carry all types of boat docks and
refer our customers to the right type of system if we are not
the right fit. For example if your boat dock needs to be in
very deep water (over 9’) a floating pier is most likely the
answer.
Q. What are the DNR rules regarding
docks/piers?
A. We know the general rules so you can
call us or go to the DNR website at:
http://dnr.wi.gov/org/water/fhp/waterway/factsheets/Piers2008.pdf
Q. What are my decking options?
A. White Vinyl or Cedar
Q. What size are your pier frames?
A. 4’ wide x 6’8” long or 3’ wide x 6’8”
long.
Q. How much does the frames and decks
weigh?
A. 4’ wide Frames 65 lbs./each, 4’ wide
Cedar decks 28 lbs/each, 4’ wide Vinyl decks 45 lbs./each. 3’
wide sections are about 20% less in weight.
Q. How much assembly
is required with a new Endres Boat Dock?
A. The only assembly you
will be doing the first time is putting the legs into the pier
posts. The frames and docks are already fully assembled.
Marine Rail
Track System F.A.Q.:
Q. What should I do to maintain my
Endres Marine Rail Track System?
A. 1.
Check for frayed cables and /or binding pulleys.
2.
Grease all components at least once a year.
3.
Check to make sure all connections are secure.
4.
Make sure you are familiar with all of the parts of your
system.
5.
Keep the track and dolley free of weeds and debris.
Q. Can I put either a run-a-bout
boat or a pontoon boat on my Marine Rail Boat Track System?
A. Our system can accommodate
run-a-about boats, deck boats and pontoon boats. Custom
boat dolleys are available.
Q. What is a gravity Marine Rail
Boat Track System?
A. The gravity system means that it
works like a simple winch system. Gravity takes the boat
down the track (sufficient drop in the track is required)
and the winch pulls the boat back into the boathouse or up
on to shore.
Q. How does the remote control work
for the Track System?
A. The remote is placed between the
motor and the power source. The control is a small remote
that will fit on a key chain. It works basically the same
as a garage door opener.
Q. What pitch is required the Endres
Marine Rail Track System in order to keep the dolley rolling
down the track?
A. We recommend at least 6” per 10
feet.
Q. What do I need to do if I
purchase a new boat?
A. The dolley is adjustable, so it may
only be a matter of taking a few minutes to readjust the
guide arms or possibly the dolley length.
Testimonials:
For what it is worth, our Endres Pier came
with the house my parents purchased in 1975 (It was painted
Endres Green which should give you an idea of the age). We have
four sections of the 4'8" pier. With the exception of a few
paint jobs, and I believe three new legs over the years, the
pier has given us trouble-free service for many seasons. I know
it is a small part of your business, but you make a fine
product.

I make my living by installing and removing
boat docks. Endres piers system is the most simple, versatile
and long lasting pier that I can find. Their dock system is
ready for installation when it is picked up and I do not spend
time assembling the pier. It fits the widest variety of
shorelines making it easy for me to install and remove in almost
all circumstances. I have installed their pier on all the
Madison area lakes. My customers are most satisfied with the
price and the looks of the pier. Working with Endres
Manufacturing is easy and they are very knowledgeable.
